I’ve been using the AirPods Pro since they became available, and they’re pretty great. I don’t miss the original AirPods at all. Unfortunately, they’re also pretty expensive (although they’re actually reasonably priced for a pair of noise-cancelling earbuds), so I wouldn’t blame you if you waited for a deal to buy them.
Today you’ll be glad you waited. Right now Amazon is selling Apple’s hot new earpieces for just $235, which is $14 off the normal retail price of $249. This is the lowest price we’ve seen them listed for to date, and you won’t even have to pay for shipping. This is also a match of a price Costco is currently offering, although you’ll have to be a member to see the price in that case.
The most noteworthy improvement over the non-Pro AirPods is the introduction of noise-cancelling. This feature isn’t as great as what you should expect from cans like the Bose QuietComfort 35s, but it’s impressive for earbuds. Call quality has also improved, and the case charges wirelessly by default. The stems are also shorter than what you’ll find on the regular AirPods, and you control them by pressing the stems rather than tapping on them. You can also control them with Siri.
For more information, you can read our day-one impressions from Macworld’s Jason Cross. We’ll have a review ready shortly.
This deal won’t be around for long, so if you’re interested, take advantage before it’s gone.
